Terms of Service

1. Who operates WantBorn

WantBorn is operated by [LLC NAME — PENDING FORMATION], a company currently being formed. Until formation is complete, WantBorn is operated directly by its founder, and these Terms are entered into with the founder individually. Registered address: [REGISTERED ADDRESS — PENDING FORMATION]. We will update this section — and only this section — the day formation completes, without changing anything else you agreed to.

2. What WantBorn is

WantBorn is the zero-to-one layer for AI founders. It combines:

• LaunchOS — a guided path from idea through validation, an SLC/MVP, first real users, and revenue.
• The Forum — structured “quests” where anyone can state a problem, and others can say whether they have it too.
• Research reports — demand-research analysis of public discussion (Hacker News, Stack Exchange, GitHub Issues, and similar sources). A free/anonymous teaser is generated per request; deeper, full reports are available to members.
• Competitions — judged skill contests with no cash prize, payout, or monetary value; entirely honor-based recognition.
• Referral — inviting others can unlock additional access within the product.
• Membership — an optional, founder-priced recurring plan described on the pricing page. Billing for membership is not active today; see §6.

WantBorn does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and does not hold or move money on your behalf outside of an active, disclosed membership subscription.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least [AGE MINIMUM: 18 — DEFAULT] years old and able to enter a binding agreement to create an account or submit content. We use passwordless, magic-link sign-in — your email address is your account identity; there is no password to steal. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. We may decline, suspend, or remove accounts that abuse the platform or act in bad faith.

4. Content you submit

Forum quests, solutions, project data on LaunchOS, and research topics you submit are your own words. You agree the information you submit is accurate, that you have the rights to share it, and that some of it — quest posts, solutions, showcase entries — is public by default. Free/anonymous research report teasers are also published publicly by default, without your name attached unless you opt in; see the Privacy Policy for details and how to keep a report private. You keep ownership of what you submit but grant us a license to display and process it to operate the service.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misrepresent yourself, scrape or abuse the platform, circumvent access controls, upload unlawful or infringing material, fabricate votes or checks, or attempt to access data you're not authorized to see.

6. Membership, billing, cancellation & refunds

Billing status: not active. As of the date above, membership checkout is gated off in our own system (MEMBERSHIP_BILLING_ENABLED=false) — no card is charged, and every part of LaunchOS and the Forum remains free. When membership billing is switched on, the following will apply:

• Founder pricing is locked at signup. The tier price you join at does not increase for as long as you remain subscribed continuously.
• Cancel anytime, in one step, from your account — no retention flow, no phone call required.
• Refund window: [14 DAYS FROM FIRST CHARGE — DEFAULT]. Cancel and request a refund within this window of your first charge for a full refund, no questions asked. Outside this window, cancellation stops future billing but the current billing period is not prorated or refunded, unless required by law where you live.
• Price changes: we will give at least 7 days' notice before any price change takes effect for existing subscribers, and it will never apply retroactively to your locked price without your consent.

EU/UK subscribers: your 14-day right of withdrawal is not waived by starting a subscription. A July 2026 CJEU ruling (Case C-234/25) held that the right of withdrawal for an ongoing digital *service* — which a monthly subscription is — cannot be waived the way it can for one-off digital content. So if you are an EU or UK consumer, you keep the statutory 14-day withdrawal right on top of, not instead of, the refund window above.

No federal “click-to-cancel” rule currently applies to us or anyone else. The FTC's click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit on 2025-07-08 and is not in force; we do not claim compliance with it. What we do commit to — a one-click, no-retention-gauntlet cancel and clear renewal disclosure — we commit to because several U.S. state auto-renewal laws (including California's, as amended 2025-07-01) require it for anyone selling to their residents, not because a federal rule requires it.

7. Competitions

Competitions are judged skill contests. There is no cash prize, payout, or other monetary value attached to any competition result — recognition only. Rules for a specific competition, where they differ from this section, are published on that competition's page and control for that competition.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided “as is” during this preview period, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WantBorn is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including reliance on any research report, quest, or other user-submitted content.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW / VENUE — PENDING FORMATION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that if you are a consumer habitually resident in the EU or UK, you keep the protections of the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country regardless of this clause.
